Google "Allow Less Secure Apps" Feature

Google introduced a new email setting that may cause connections to the Gmail SMTP server to fail.  Under My Account > Sign-In & Security > Connected Apps & Sites you will find the new setting called "Allow less secure apps"

When this setting is turned OFF, Microix cannot connect to Gmail account, unless you are using a Google device or application. In order to send email you will need to change the setting to "ON"

Microix SMTP Server Setup for use with Gmail:
SMTP SERVER: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP PORT: 587
AUTH METHOD: SSL
Google's "Allow less secure apps" setting must be ON.

Question:
Is Microix SMTP email features less secure according to Google’s description?

NO! Microix application targets Microsoft .Net Framework 4.72 which deploys the best encryption available in Microsoft's .Net platform.  As long as you set the authentication method to use SSL, Microix is connecting using the latest available TLS protocol security.  If you are still not comfortable turning “ON” the Gmail “Allow less secure apps” setting the only workaround is to use a Microsoft Outlook account.
