When attempting to transfer documents to MIP Fund Accounting, the following error message appears for some documents:

"Document is out of balance by fund and balancing segments"

This issue typically indicates a missing offset configuration for one or more GL accounts in MIP—specifically for the transaction type API.

✅ Resolution Steps

1. 🔐 Log into MIP Fund Accounting

• Open your MIP accounting software and log in with appropriate administrative access.

2. 🧭 Navigate to Offset Account Assignment

• Go to: Maintenance > Offset Assignment (or similar path based on your MIP version)

3. ➕ Add AP Offset for GL XXXX

• Select transaction type API "Accounts Payable"

• Enter the fund and GL XXXX used by Microix and assign the appropriate offsetfund and GL for Accounts Payable. 

• You may want to audit other frequently used GL accounts to ensure offset configurations are in place, preventing similar errors in the future.

• This issue often occurs after new accounts are added to MIP Fund Accounting, but offsets aren't configured.

• Consult your finance team if you’re unsure of the appropriate fund or segment values.
