Overview
The Bulk Update button located within a document is a powerful time-saving tool designed to streamline the coding of multiple detail lines. Additionally, it can perform other tasks like shipping charge allocation and tax but its primarily focus is to assist with coding when working with Credit Card or other imported data.
Step 1: Open an existing Document

Locate and open the document you want to perform a bulk update.

Click on the Bulk Update icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Choose an Update Option
Upon clicking the icon, you’ll be presented with five update methods:

Assign/Replace Account Code

Assign/Replace Distribution Code

Replace GL Account Based on Description

Allocate Shipping Costs

Insert Tax Amount
Details of Each Update Method
1. Assign/Replace Account Code

Select the appropriate segment.

Search and replace one account code value with another.
2. Assign/Replace Distribution Code

Search and replace one distribution code with another.
3. Replace GL Account Based on Description
-
Search the detail line’s description field for a specific value.

Replace the GL account with the desired value.
4. Allocate Shipping Costs
-
Shipping costs are allocated based on percentage of total quantity or amount.

This behavior is configured in Global Settings (GSID 60).
5. Insert Tax Amount
-
Adds a new detail line with the tax amount and GL account.

Values are determined by the tax percentage and GL account set in Workflow Setup.
Tips
-
Ensure Global Settings and Workflow Setup are properly configured before using allocation or tax insertion features.

Use descriptive values in detail lines to make GL replacements more effective.
