Purpose: This article explains how to configure Workflow Modules Modern to send notification emails using your organization’s own Office 365 mailbox instead of the default Microix account (donotreply@microix.ai).
Before setting up, ensure you have the following:
Office 365 Mailbox Account using OAuth 2.0 Authentication
The account must support OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication with Microsoft.
Mailbox Must Be a Service Account
Use a dedicated service account, not a regular user’s mailbox, to ensure reliability and avoid personal mailbox restrictions.
Follow these steps to set up your Office 365 service mailbox for use by Workflow Modules Modern:
Go to Maintenance > Application Options from the main menu.
In the SMTP Settings section (located near the middle top of the page):
Select Office365 as the Server Name.
Enter the service email address you want Workflow Modules Modern to use for sending notifications.
Click the OAuth Authentication button in the toolbar.
The application will redirect you to the Microsoft authentication page.
Sign in using the credentials of the mailbox account you entered previously.
Upon successful authentication, the token will be stored, and the mailbox will be authorized for use.
Once setup is complete, Workflow Modules Modern will use the authenticated Office 365 service mailbox to send all notification emails.
No further configuration is required unless credentials or permissions change.
Ensure the service account has “Send As” permissions if sending on behalf of other addresses.
Avoid using shared or personal user mailboxes to prevent access issues.
Re-authenticate periodically if Microsoft prompts for renewed OAuth consent.
