Microix Modern Upgrade: Costs, Licensing, and Renewal Rules
Microix handles all Modern upgrades. When you add or upgrade anything — whether you originally purchased Classic (perpetual) or Modern (subscription) — your configuration is recalculated using the current Modern price list. We subtract what you already pay annually, and the difference becomes your new annual renewal. This ensures your pricing aligns with Modern standards and reflects any new add‑ons or license increases.
Upgrade Cost
Most clients do not pay anything to upgrade to Modern. A cost only applies when:
• You use more than 3 Classic databases, and/or
• You need to add or upgrade Web Licenses.
During the upgrade:
• Classic Windows licenses convert to Modern Web Licenses.
• Only the features you already own are included.
• Any new modules or add‑ons must be purchased.
How Modern Pricing Works
When you add or upgrade anything (modules, add‑ons, databases, or web licenses):
Your entire configuration is recalculated using the current Modern price list.
Your current annual fee is deducted from the new Modern total.
The remaining balance becomes your new annual renewal going forward.
Renewal amounts never decrease, as Modern pricing replaces all legacy discounts.
Perpetual vs. Subscription
• Perpetual clients still own their Classic software, but once they upgrade or add anything, pricing moves to Modern.
• Subscription clients are already on Modern, so upgrades simply recalculate their configuration using the current price list.
Web License Rules
Web Licenses are shared across all databases. Total active users across all databases cannot exceed the number of purchased Web Licenses.
Optional Requisition Add‑Ons
Requisition includes optional Modern add‑ons (Bank Feed, Reimbursements, Invoice Capture). Clients receive a 60‑day trial; after the trial, these must be purchased or they will be removed.
New Microix Administrators
If your organization has a new Microix Administrator, we recommend 4 hours of Admin Training to support your Modern rollout.
